Women on the Rocks: Reigniting Mining with Female Power
Women in Mining Inaugural Podcast featuring Tara Christie President & CEO of Banyan Gold Corp
Presenting Problem
Silver is under-performing as an asset class
There are some reasons for this such as Federal Reserve and their client States don’t want competition. (We get it) There are also other forces we’ve discussed such as Silver Industrialists like low factory inputs (We get it) Lastly we acknowledge there is a vicious paper market and many paper traders hold massive short positions (We get it)
But…
We believe another contributing factor was the decades missed and billions lost by three things:
1. Bad content by old guard influencers
2. Bad marketing by old guard influencers
3. Poor demographic research by old guard influencers
These influencers took money from mining clients without thinking the problem through leading to this disaster graphed below.
When you add Microsoft and Apple together (they are 300 times bigger than ALL SILVER MINERS COMBINED)
How are things going?
Are you happy with Silver Mining collectively sitting at only $17 Billion? 300 times less than the two companies?
We both know the answer is No!
What should we do about this?
Silver has not done anything for the past 2 or 3 years, but we've been busy trying to change this and acknowledge you are also working hard.
Btw, we know why Silver has chopped sideways for this long
In the past 12 months, here are some of the things we've accomplished
We Broke the story on the Dept. of Defense, ceasing reports on their massive Silver use.
We Broke the story of the US Bureau of Mines being abolished.
We Broke the story of the US Dept of Energy taking Silver off its list of critical minerals.
We Broke the story on Silver use in the World's military/law enforcement plus Silver use in categories never covered by Silver Institute, including Silver in
Aerospace (satellites, rockets, spacecraft, hypersonic)
Hydrogen fuel cell cars, trucks, and vans
Hydrogen fuel cell ships, barges, ferries, yachts, boats, and HVAC
Silver zinc batteries
Electric trains (coating, printed circuit boards, switches)
In Robotics
AI
Quantum computing
Used in Colliders (magnets) for fusion power experiments, motors, generators, and power transmission lines.
We formed a coalition with 100,000 crypto enthusiasts to grow the Silver movement.
Moreover, we forged a powerful coalition with women by launching "The Women on The Rocks" podcast Series.
Women, 50% of the market (in many settings) buy more gold/silver than men!
As reported:
Women were Ignored (or skipped over) by other promoters (e.g., Arcadia Economics, King World News, Liberty and Finance). This Gross misdiagnosis (demographics, marketing basics) cost their mining clients billions of dollars and lost decades.
We are clawing these investors back, but there is no excuse for this poor judgment, and there needs to be an immediate shake-up.
The old guard, now that they understand they really screwed things up badly, will get defensive, and below are some of their likely reactions. In fairness to them, most of us do get defensive when our faults are on full display (I've been there before but came out stronger)
The expectation would be that those old media influencers would admit to one of three things:
1.) We Didn't know (which is the wrong thing to say) because the next question is then, "Where are your social listening skills?"
2.) We Didn't care. Also, an inadequate response because this dismissiveness fueled full-on misogyny, which has infected our culture like a sick plague. These things can be busted up by speaking out against these forms of discrimination. Their job was to call this out, not reinforce and feed the problem.
This isn’t about being Woke. This is about being Wise.
3.) We apologize; that's a start, but it doesn't get those billions of dollars lost back.
This new video summarizes how the "old-guard influencers" cost Silver miners billions.
In summary
Old promoters favored (white, male, older)
While ignoring (women, younger, crypto, techies, etc)
The Silver Academy already had captured the male, older demographic but immediately knew this was a dinosaur demographic.
So we met around the clock, brainstormed, formed focus groups, then identified the problematic issue mentioned above and revved all research and content engines into over-drive to arrest and then repair.
We will try not to over-correct.
this is a tendency with dumbasses. Like I said above, I’ve been in the dumbass camp many times before so we’re just all thinking out loud.

Pixy says:
Hello, Darling Subscribers. Today, we are head over heels excited about our featured guest, Tara Christie, President & CEO of Banyan Gold.
Before we say Hello to Tara, we must begin our interview with some unfortunate facts on the surface. But as we dig deep into these challenges (pun intended), it is predicted that we will all work together to chip away (pun intended) at some gender barriers to reach a favorable prize: more mining efficiency and more mining investment.
The Mining industry faces labor shortages as many miners are set to retire over the next 3 to 5 years.
The labor shortage could threaten silver and gold production at a time when demand is spiking.
According to the World Bank's 70-page report titled " Examining Opportunities and Constraints for Women in Mining Organizations Worldwide," 85% of the mining industry is men compared to only 15% of women.
This gender divide spells trouble for The Mining Industry. The Silver Academy's “Women on The Rocks” will be a spirited podcast series over the next two to three years to raise awareness and spark meaningful dialogue.
Fortunately, we have embarked on some focus groups with dozens of student groups across University and trade schools, including The New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, and we will be in a great position to summarize an action plan to solve this Silver Crisis. So far, we have identified an 8-point action plan, which will be modified as we hear from industry experts like today's guest.
Let's hear from today's honored presenter, Tara Christie, who has some positive news and reports on some positive trends developing in Canada.
Tara, welcome to the Pixy Podcast.
Thank you for kicking off the Women in Mining podcast.
Tara, is there a shift in this troubling trend specific to your Canadian Tier 1 jurisdiction?
